I am getting on in years and had 5 fence posts to put in and didn't fancy digging 20" deep holes in clay soil with a spade or one of those fence post hole diggers which really look like hard work so I thought I'd give this a try...What a great choice! This is a fantastic piece of kit!A word of advice - I reiterate another reviewers comment on how to use this tool - do not try to twist this fully into the ground and then try to pull it back up! Simply turn it a couple of times, give it a wriggle and pull it out. Clean out the tine and repeat until the depth you require is reached. A 20" deep hole took an old git like me under 10 minutes to create a neat 6" diameter hole.The only negative comment I have is that the handle is floppy on the shaft. However, it doesn't appear to effect the function.I now plan to use this tool for planting out shrubs as they are in 6" pots - what a bonus!
