40'/lb Electric Outboard Trolling Motor 12v Battery Operated
[SM40]

£114.99

I've had other electric outboards. One rusted internally, one was stolen. I didn't use those at full power to avoid draining the battery. As this motor is smaller I expected to turn it to full power, but I was surprised how much power there is. It was tried on a 10ft aluminium dinghy with the Johnson 6hp two-stroke still attached, and the electric got up a decent jogging pace. And that was with the Johnson prop dragging in the water. On a 2.7m rubber dinghy lightly loaded it was just as good, coping well with a river in full flood. I could run it slower, but its more fun this way.As I just want to travel 200m to my boat and back, I've been using a little 10ah 12v battery, Its fine. For a longer trip I'll give it a bit more battery, but having a small battery is very convenient for my needs. I have yet to measure the current to be able to do the battery-life figures, but its certainly up to the task so far as propulsion is concerned. The Johnson 6hp is retired from doing short journeys now.
