    The basket in this fryer is very shallow and it feels that there should be a button to lower it into deeper into the pan but there isn't. I have a smaller fryer that takes about the same amount of food. I thought buying this bigger size would enable me to cook for more people, but sadly not. I put the maximum amount of oil in but the basket but it only sat in half an inch of the oil. I really thought nothing would cook properly. I had to keep moving the food around to be sure it was getting into the oil. It did cook everything but I think the only way of getting more food in and cooked well would be to not use the basket provided.
